Member Service Representative

Full time and Part time available

Provides courteous professional service and assistance to members or perspective members.  Responsible for performing assigned accounting, clerical, and related member services functions for the Member Services Department.  Posts and balances various accounts.  Processes Share-to-Share transfers, ACH Debits, and processing wire transfers.  Researches and resolves discrepancies, variances, and problems. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.  Must be responsible and dependable.

Essential Functions & Basic Duties

  • Process over the counter member transaction.  (I.E. deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, money orders, traveler’s checks, investment checks, certificate of deposits, share draft account, etc.)  During working hours.

  • Process all mail and night deposit transactions.

  • Open new accounts and close accounts.

  • Maintain membership card.  Mail welcome letters, keep filed and updated.  Track membership fee and balance GL.

  • Respond to members inquiries regarding their account and other credit union products and services.

  • Cross sell products & services during working hours.

  • Balance individual terminal input and cash drawer daily.

  • Maintain adequate supplies (copy paper, receipt paper, etc.)

  • Assist members with needed payroll deduction changes.

  • File duplicate checks daily.

  • Maintain updated addresses and account information on members (I.E. name, address change, joint owner, etc.)

  • Maintain dormant accounts, mailing monthly letters and pulling monthly reports.

  • Research from microfiche any needed member information.

  • Microfilm bank statements, end of month reports, etc.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: 

High school graduate or equivalent.  Accounting course work helpful.                  

Experience Required:              

One to three years of experience in a related position.

Skills/Abilities:                            

Ensure request are handled in a timely manner.

Ensure each member received quality service.

Must be knowledgeable of all credit union products and services.

Observe all credit union security procedures.

Observe confidentially and privacy regulations.

Is flexible to the need of the credit union.

Assist co-workers with any needed help.

Accepts responsibility of accuracy of personal work.

Accepts responsibility for access to confidential data.

Ability to be given and meet specific deadlines.

Salary: $16/hr
