Director of Operations

The Director of Operations will direct and assist the Operations managers, Virtual Branch Manager, and Training Specialist in providing leadership to the credit union through efficient daily operations and ensuring delivery of quality member service as well as the achievement of sales or productivity goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the day-to-day workflow of the branches to ensure excellent member service to assists members and prospective members.

  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

  • Assists managers in efforts to reach profit, performance, and customer service goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and manages staffing procedures, ensuring that staff assignments and responsibilities are reasonable.

  • Collaborates with the COO to set performance standards. Standards may be based on financial and operational goals and required compliance with internal, local, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Conducts regular staff meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated with branch staff; provides guidance and leadership to enable staff to meet these goals and objectives.

  • Maintains and develops positive relationships with existing and prospective members, demonstrating excellent member service and setting an example for other staff.

  • Participates in community activities to promote the organization and to build goodwill.

  • Collaborates with Operations Managers and staff regarding advertising, marketing, and growth campaigns.

  • Oversees and assists with the preparation of all branch reports for approval by COO.

  • Assist Senior Leadership with quarterly and/or annual audits and exams.

  • Assist and coach Operations Managers with ongoing internal reviews for daily compliance procedures (ex: new account openings, POD balancing, vault balancing, etc.)

  • Identifies training needs and opportunities; and implements a plan for meeting those needs.

  • Manages branch operations when manager is absent.

  • Oversee facilities for the credit union by working with Operations Managers on items needed for each particular location. Including ongoing maintenance and supply needs.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding of banking regulatory matters and procedures for proper operation.

  • Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills.

  • Excellent sales, member service, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree and equivalent industry experience required.

  • At least three years of experience in the branch with at least one year as a branch manager highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer as well as prolonged periods of standing.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
