  • Immediate family members of existing members
    Defined as the following: spouses, children, siblings, parents, grandparents, grandchildren, step parents, step children, step siblings and adoptive relationships
  • Select Employee Groups (SEG's)       View SWLA Credit Union's Sponsor Employee Groups

How to I become a member?

It only takes $25.00 to open your primary savings account.  To open your Membership Account, we will need two forms of identification, two primaries or one primary and one secondary. See examples below:

How does my company become a Select Employee Group?
 
 The members Share Savings account is what makes the Credit Union work. Therefore, the members own the Credit Union. It functions as a financial cooperative institution to serve its members. Since Credit Unions are NOT-FOR-PROFIT, they strive to give the Best Service at the Lowest Cost to the member.

Credit Unions offer:

  • Higher Dividends
  • Lower loan rates
  • Lower to no fees on services
Credit Union Membership is a GREAT BENEFIT to offer to your employees.

for a company to offer a Credit union!!!

 

If you are interested in joining Southwest Louisiana Credit Union to offer this benefit to your employees, here are the guidelines:

  • A letter on your company letterhead, addressed to Chief Executive Officer, stating that your management would like to offer this benefit to its employees.
  • The letter should contain:
    • Your request to join the Credit Union
    • How long your company has been in business
    • The number of full time and part employees you have
    • The following statement if you "are not” affiliated with another Credit Union:
      • We are not affiliated with any Credit Union, therefore we do not have access to another Credit Union.
    • The following statement if you "are” affiliated with another Credit Union:
      • The members of our employment group currently have access to a Credit Union, but we would like for them to have the additional benefit of access to more than one Credit Union.
